Week 5: Weigh-In
The joys of dieting!
Well I don’t think I really did well these past few weeks.
My schedule was all crazy with my kitchen renovations.
Then this past week I forgot I was PMS-ing! Can you imagine! I forgot it was that time!
I guess this happened because I was taking Advil for my back pain, I didn’t notice the cramping that was going on too. I also wanted to inhale everything in sight and I couldn’t imagine why – I thought it was stress – but no my friends, it was the calendar and hormones and the like!
So what you are really waiting to hear is “how did I do?”
Drum roll…ah forget the damn roll – I gained a pound!
I am now 176

I’ve Been So Bad!
As most of you, (my regular readers) may have noticed, I have not been blogging regularly.
As a result, I am just shoving food in my mouth and when I come to sit at the computer, I actually forget all that I consumed. It has been a lot.
What could it be?
Stress?
Boredom?
Frustration?
Depression?
Fuel to fend off the pain?
I am not sure.
I do have my sister’s twins with me all week, but they have been good. My son was sick in the beginning of the week and I worried about him.
I have been trying to plan the perfect vacation (camp) for the little ones but that does not have me overwhelmed. And how can I be bored! – Seriously!
We have been eating late each night, not good for the kids or for me either. They have been going to bed late and waking up late and getting the days started late, etc. Take tonight for instance – it is 8:23 PM the 3 kids are with my husband at my son’s football practice. It is his turn (carpool) to drive the boys home. So he decided to take my daughter and the twins and spend a few hours at the field playing with them while watching my son’s workout. It gave me a few hours to myself. I straightened out and prepared dinner – yup prepared – we didn’t eat yet!
Well, I bought all snacks and goodies for the kids to enjoy – hey it is a vacation! And Aunt Elaine is cool! So we had great nibbles at the park and the beach and while we watched Scooby Doo in Hawaii and Bratz Rock Angels! But I ate too. Alot. Not good.
I will be happy if I do not post a weight gain this coming Tuesday. I will be happy to stay status quo, even though I have been doing a lot of walking. I have been doing a lot of eating as well.
So I think when the kids go to school, I will join Weight Watchers again. My friend and I along with a friend of hers will go to the meetings. We plan to walk everyday too. It is always better to walk with others; it makes it more enjoyable and safer too.
Sigh.
We shall see.
I have a wedding next week – I REFUSE TO BUY A DRESS THAT I DON’T EVER WANT TO WEAR AGAIN – because it would be too big! I have to ravage through my closet and get serious!
Week 5 – Friday’s Meals/Activities and Conditions
ACTIVITIES: I still have my twin 6 year old niece and nephew visiting me. Their last day, they get picked up tomorrow. Not much excitement planned for today.
EXERCISE: morning stretching
BREAKFAST: 2 waffles with syrup
LUNCH: none
SNACKS: rice crispy treat – tiny X 3, pretzels, cheese doodles – all things good for you! apricots, water
DINNER: round sausage, mashed potatoes, cauliflower
DESSERT:
HEADACHE: none
SINUS: congestion – finally took prescription nasal spray. I need to take 2 sprays each nostril per day. We shall see if this clears me out.
SLEEP PROBLEMS FROM NIGHT BEFORE: Some breathing problems, had disturbing dream with all dead relatives! (I am not ready!) Back aching too much so I ran some water in the tub and soaked my legs for a bit, fell asleep in tub, then got out and went back to bed.
OTHER: leg tightness and back pain
MEDS:
- Advil
- nasal spray
- vitamins

Week 5 – Wednesday’s Meals/Activities and Conditions
ACTIVITIES: I still have my twin 6 year old niece and nephew visiting me. Trying to figure out if we should go to the beach for a bit, a local park with a sprinkler park and animals or a petting zoo (thinking to late for that) or the town pool. (went to Hoyt Farm park to see the animals and enjoy the sprinkler park)
EXERCISE: I tried to do morning stretching – my hamstrings are so tight that it was very painful to extend leg outward while lying on back – did stretching in middle of night. Soaked in hot bath to loosen up my leg muscles – seemed to help somewhat.
BREAKFAST:
- vitamins with cran-raspberry juice; Advil – 2 tablets for leg pain
- nectarine that was over-ripe
LUNCH:
SNACKS: chips, grapes
DINNER: leftover spare-ribs and large salad
DESSERT: more chips
HEADACHE: slight – might be due to tension or be associated with my tight hamstrings (is this possible?)
SINUS: pressure – especially at bridge of nose and between the eyes
SLEEP PROBLEMS FROM NIGHT BEFORE: I forced the kids to stay up late! No not really, but they slept through the night. I had no breathing problems but my legs were hurting so bad that my sleep was disrupted quite a bit – it was painful to lie down.
OTHER: Not to beat a dead horse but my legs and buttocks are killing me!
- took Advil for muscle pain and bit of headache – I think it worked for my legs but my head still hurts and I am feeling a bit nauseous – perhaps due to taking med on empty stomach.
